The Auckland International Buskers Festival was again a huge success this year with some of the most picturesque sites all along Auckland’s Waterfront.

Crackerjack Promotions is the owner and organiser of the Festival and we were very proud to be a massive part of Auckland’s 175th Birthday entertainment.

Students of the Department of Property and Industry professionals met on Monday 26 May at the University of Auckland for a speed networking cocktail event.

The property students were given the opportunity to meet with a property professional for gathering information that is so important to landing that first job. Cards were exchanged on the night with each student having 2 or 3 follow up interviews with a variety of industry insiders, over a coffee.

This event has proven to be a great opportunity for both the students and the industry for learning what’s out there in a no-strings-attached environment, becoming a valuable industry tool.

Last week we went to Queenstown for Destination Queenstown’s Remarkable Mega Famil and experienced the huge array of options Queenstown has to offer – helicopter rides over breath taking scenery; four wheel drives through rivers and mountains; Amazing Race type activities, Bungy Jumping off the Kawarau Bridge, Zip Tracking, Jet boating and Luging – we were definitely challenged mentally, physically and emotionally!

When the adrenaline-filled activities were over we were treated to stunning food and wine at Moonlight Country, Winehouse, Millbrook and Walter Peak Station (across Lake Wakatipu via the Earnslaw Steam Boat). We even managed to get some R & R while browsing around the town as well as the opportunity to experience some of Queenstown’s most luxurious resorts.

Now we have a better understanding of what makes that little town so special!

The annual Auckland University Property Department Graduation Dinner was held in the grand marquee on the University grounds and celebrated 75 years achievements of the Department, the graduates and students. Calep Pearson, winner of “The Block NZ” and BProp Grad, was guest speaker and gave a fascinating incite as to what it was like to be a participant and eventually a Winner of The Block.

One of the guests at the dinner, Squire Speedy, a founding member of the Department of Property, wrote to thank us after the event : “A smooth organisation was obviously behind the evening. A bit like the smooth swan that pedals like the blazes underneath”.

We thought it a very succinct way of describing event management!

The Estée Lauder Companies Pink Star Walk took place on October 5th, supported in a more than unique way the battle against breast cancer. It was the first walk in Auckland for three years since the end of the Dove Pink Star Walk and raises funds for breast cancer research. 2000 people turned the Auckland Domain and Parnell pink and raised over $65,000 for the fight against breast cancer. Thank you to all volunteers who helped us beforehand and on the day. Without them it would have been almost impossible to stage the Estée Lauder Companies Pink Star Walk. We look forward to next year being a part of such an amazing event and the prospect of taking it nationwide.
